Inductive sensors check the presence and position of workpiece carriers. In an automotive assembly line, for instance, these sensors prove to be invaluable to the lift and transfer process.

When cylinder heads get transferred to another line for mounting on an auto engine, the workpiece gets lifted from one carrier to another– inductive sensors fitted on the roller conveyor do the job of checking the position of the workpiece carrier, making sure everything’s in order.

Sensors are used to detect the arrival of a workpiece carrier. When it arrives, the sensor tells the conveyor to stop. A robot then lifts and transfers the workpiece to an adjacent line. The sensor then figures out that the cylinder head has been successfully removed from the workpiece carrier, so it can tell the conveyor to start up again and return the empty carrier to the workpiece loading station. Without inductive sensors, the elaborate process of factory work would be a lot slower and less efficient.

Locon Sensor Systems sells top quality inductive sensors for use in different industries. Best of all, Locon’s team of engineers can customize sensors to meet the unique needs of your particular application.

Avoid product waste. Get reliable and extremely robust inductive sensors from Locon Sensor Systems. They’ll help prevent damage to your equipment (which would result in downtime) and help give you and your company efficient, automatic manipulation of large assembled parts.

Locon Sensor Systems is a proud American company located in Perrysburg, Ohio. Call 800-356-2661 to discuss your inductive sensor needs today.

Locon Sensor Systems helps companies in a wide range of industries integrate sensors that best suit their applications. From businesses that need sensors to perform in the harshest of environments, to projects requiring a custom fit, Locon Sensor Systems can provide your business with nearly any type of solution. In fact, Locon Sensor Systems’ engineering and sales team works closely with customers to develop custom solutions for their sensor needs.

In addition to developing custom sensors for clients, Locon Sensor Systems also sells a variety of accessories that aid in maximizing your system’s productivity and safety levels. Let’s take a look at some of those accessories below.

Sensor Testers

Locon Sensor Systems offers a sensor tester with micro-USB socket. The tester works well with all types of sensors, from the most basic to the very complex, and it includes PNP/NPN recognition. Test results are indicated on an LED screen, as well as by an audio signal.

This battery operated system lasts for about two hours and is rechargeable through a universal phone charger. It’s a wonderful device to have around to ensure your system is running on point.

Power Cables

Connectivity is another important part of sensor design. Power cables can be tailored to your individual needs to meet safety requirements, yet are designed to withstand cleaning and washing. Proper cable connections allow for faster system implementation.

Mounting Clamps

Clamps are simple sensor support pieces that remain in place when sensors are being exchanged. They are easily adjustable and simplify the exchange process. Installed with little effort, mounting clamps will improve sensor performance and reduce downtime.

Are you interested in learning more about how the aforementioned accessories can improve your sensor system or design? If so, please contact Locon Sensor Systems today.

Often times, it’s easy to forget how much technology simplifies our lives. This is not just true for individuals; it’s true for businesses as well, as certain technologies and systems can simplify operations and make companies more efficient.

Conveyor systems are a wonderful example of how technology can help companies become more productive, and help ease the burden of employees “working on the ground.” Conveyor systems are used by businesses in a variety of industries, including automotive, pharmaceutical, food and beverage manufacturers.

However, as is the case with any sort of system, all it takes is one component not functioning as it should for the entire system to breakdown and come to a screeching halt. This is especially true for conveyor systems, where, every component –large and small – has an effect on the capabilities of the overall system. One tiny sensor malfunctioning can cause a loss of production in even the most efficient companies.

That’s where Locon Sensor Systems can help. We manufacture miniature photoelectric sensors that are ideal for conveyor applications because of their small housings and large sensing ranges, with the capability to reliably and accurately detect items that are moving at a rapid pace. Our sensors work well in a variety of applications and have many unique options, including data monitoring and diagnostics capabilities.

Advantageously, our team of engineers can design and fabricate a custom sensor for your company to make sure your conveyor system continues to function at an efficient and profitable level. To learn more about the advantages and capabilities of our mini photoelectric sensors, please contact us today.
