LOCON is your trusted source for high quality photoelectric sensors that withstand temperatures up to 250 degrees (Celsius). The high temps can be accommodated by our photoelectric sensors when used in coordination with our fiber optic cables. Several variations of the cables are available to tailor the design to your specific application needs.

High Temperature Photoelectric Sensor FAQs
Are either of the FMS18 or FMS30 sensor models high-temp tolerant on their own?
No, the sensors themselves are not high-temp rated. They are rated to 60°C/140°F. They must be paired with a fiber optic cable, sold separately, to be used in high-temperature applications. The fiber optic cables are rated to 250°C/482°F.
How do the FMS sensor models and fiber optic cables pair together?
The fiber optic cables—whether through-beam or retro-reflective—securely attach to the face of the FMS sensor using a gasket and locking ring. The pulsed IR 880 nm light travels through the glass fibers in the cable, allowing the sensor to function in proximity detection while being positioned away from high temperatures.
